The number of sessions required varies depending on the individual’s condition, health goals, and response to treatment. During your initial consultation, Rebecca will carefully assess your needs and create a personalised treatment plan.

Some may experience significant improvements after just a few sessions, while others with more complex or chronic conditions may require additional treatments to achieve optimal results. Rebecca will work closely with you to determine the ideal number of sessions needed to achieve lasting and meaningful results.  She is always aiming to see you enough to make sure you are fully supported but also as little as possible in order for you to own your recovery.

Generally sessions start off close together (say once a week) and then get further apart as your condition improves (fortnightly/monthly/6 months).  Results are generally achieved pretty quickly and most clients report feeling an improvement after the first or second session.

We encourage open communication throughout your journey. Let’s regularly reassess your progress and make any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan as your needs evolve.

If you’re unable to find an appointment that fits your schedule, please contact us directly. We’ll do our best to find a time that works for you. In some cases, we can accommodate appointments during early mornings or weekends.

Our appointment schedule may be full, but we strive to accommodate urgent cases. Contact us directly, and we will do our utmost to find a suitable time.

If our current appointment schedule is fully booked or does not align with your availability, we will gladly add you to our waitlist. We will contact you if a cancellation or rescheduling opens up a time that works for you.

Submit a request to be added to the waitlist

To better assist you, do provide us with your availability and whether you are available for short-notice appointments. This will enable us to reach out to you with appointments that are suitable to you.

Of course. We value open communication and want to address your concerns before you book an appointment. Please let us know your preferred time and contact number so that Rebecca may call you back.

Rebecca Davies Osteopathy do not directly work with insurance companies. However, if you have a cash plan with your insurer that allows you to claim reimbursement for services, we are more than happy to provide you with the necessary documentation to facilitate your reimbursement process.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

Babies & Children

Cranial osteopathy helps babies release strain patterns acquired in the womb and through the birth process.  Craniosacral  osteopathy can be used to address a variety of conditions affecting babies and children, such as colic, feeding difficulties, sleeping issues, and developmental concerns. For older children it is great for releasing strains from injuries and accidents.

Babies can acquire compressive and/or torsional strains both in the womb (from mal-positioning) and through the birth process (c-sections, ventouse and forceps or long difficult births).  Common symptoms a baby may exhibit if they have a strain pattern are crying a lot for no specific reason (colic type behaviour)/ difficulty either getting to sleep or not going through normal sleep cycles/ feeding issues.  You may notice that your baby generally seems unsettled and not happy.

It is a gentle and non-invasive form of osteopathic treatment that focuses not only on the head but also its related structures. It is based on the belief that subtle rhythmic movements exist in the body and are essential for maintaining health.

During a cranial osteopathy session, Rebecca uses a very subtle and gentle touch which babies and children enjoy and respond well to and allows her to work with the baby’s natural instincts. Treating such strains through cranial osteopathy helps to release these patterns and minimises the effects of those strains into adulthood.

If you are not sure if your baby would benefit from such treatment, Rebeca would be very happy to chat with you and to do an initial examination to give her professional opinion.

If your baby is experiencing persistent fussiness, discomfort, or difficulty settling, considering osteopathic treatment may be worthwhile.

During a session with Rebecca she will carefully assess your baby’s physical condition and medical history. She will then use gentle touch and manipulative techniques to address any areas of tension or restriction in the baby’s body.

Remember that every baby is unique, and while some may respond quickly to osteopathy, others may require multiple sessions to experience the full benefits.

Always communicate openly about your baby’s progress and any concerns you may have.

For some women and babies, the birthing process can be traumatic, leaving lasting physical and emotional effects. If you’ve had a traumatic birth experience, know that you’re not alone, and there is hope for healing and recovery. Rebecca can provide significant support for both you and your baby during this challenging time.

Babies can experience trauma during birth, especially if interventions like forceps or vacuum extraction were necessary. Osteopathy can be beneficial for newborns by addressing any physical discomfort caused during the birthing process. Gentle osteopathic techniques can help relieve tension, encourage relaxation, and promote proper alignment, supporting the baby’s development and well-being.

For mothers who have experienced trauma during childbirth, Rebecca can offer relief from discomfort and pain. She can provide treatments to address issues like pelvic misalignment, muscle tension, or spinal problems caused by birthing interventions, as well as energetic and emotional support.

Osteopathic techniques can target the muscles and tissues involved in tongue tie, promoting relaxation and reducing tension in the affected area. This can help to improve tongue mobility and feeding abilities. For example, if your baby has a tight frenulum, Rebecca may use gentle pressure to release the tension in the tissue, allowing the tongue to move more freely.

Alignment and Balance

Osteopathy also aims to restore balance and alignment in the body, including the cranial and oral structures. This can help to improve the baby’s ability to latch and feed comfortably. For example, if the baby’s head is misaligned, an Rebecca may use gentle techniques to help realign the bones, which can make it easier for the baby to suckle.

Benefits for Both Babies and Mothers

Osteopathy can offer a number of benefits for both babies and mothers, including:

  • Improved tongue mobility and feeding abilities
  • Reduced tension and discomfort
  • Improved alignment and balance
  • Increased bonding between mother and baby

Rebecca works alot with babies experiencing feeding difficulties or who have tongue tie.  Identifying areas of tension in the body from either intrauterine strains or birth strains can often help to reduce tension in babies body and make it easier for them to latch and feed efficiently.

Many parents worry about their children’s posture, as poor posture can lead to a variety of problems, including pain, fatigue, and even decreased athletic performance.

Some common postural problems in children include rounded shoulders, forward head posture, slouching, uneven hips, and curvature of the spine.

Rebecca can use gentle, hands-on techniques to assess and address the underlying causes of poor posture. The treatment doesn’t solely focus on the affected area but takes into account the entire body’s interconnections. By addressing any underlying bio-mechanical dysfunctions or imbalances, it promotes overall well-being and helps prevent future postural issues.

Yes, osteopathy may help with this and Rebecca is happy to consult and give you guidance. However she does not work a lot with children with this diagnosis and would usually refer on to a practitioner who works more with this condition.

Yes, osteopathy can complement conventional allergy treatments by providing a more comprehensive approach to managing allergies by:

  • Enhancing respiratory function
  • Boosting the immune system
  • Reducing inflammation
  • Relieving stress

Rebecca does not generally work a lot with allergies and recommends finding a practitioner who works with this more frequently.  If you are already being treated by other specialists then osteopathy can be a good adjunct for this.

Yes, Rebecca can help breastfeeding mothers and babies in a number of ways, including:

  • Identifying and addressing misalignments or tension that may be affecting the baby’s ability to latch properly or causing discomfort for the mother during feeding.
  • Focusing not only on the baby’s mouth and jaw but also on their overall well-being. By assessing and improving baby’s physical functioning, such as mobility and muscle coordination, she can help enhance their feeding ability.
  • Breastfeeding can sometimes lead to physical discomfort for mothers, such as neck pain, back pain, or sore nipples. Rebecca can use osteopathic techniques to alleviate tension in the mother’s body, providing relief and promoting relaxation during feeding sessions.
  • Some babies may have difficulty latching properly, which can lead to inadequate milk transfer and frustration for both mother and baby. Rebecca can work with the baby to improve their latch and sucking reflex, making breastfeeding more efficient and comfortable for both.
  • Breastfeeding is not just a physical act but also an emotional and bonding experience for both mother and baby. Rebecca understands the importance of emotional well-being and can provide a supportive and nurturing environment for mothers, helping them build confidence and overcome any challenges they may face.

If your baby seems to be suffering with wind, colic and straining Rebecca can examine your baby’s body to identify areas of tension, misalignment, or restriction. She may apply gentle manipulations to help release any blockages or discomfort. By restoring balance and improving the function of the musculoskeletal system, osteopathy can relieve colic and straining tension, allowing your baby to relax and find comfort.

In addition to treating the musculoskeletal system, she can offer guidance on feeding techniques, positioning, and other strategies to support your baby’s digestive health. Rebecca can also provide insights into factors that may contribute to colic, such as diet or breastfeeding issues, and offer appropriate recommendations to address them.

Booking a mother and baby appointment

We recommend scheduling two separate appointments for mother and baby, to ensure that both you and your baby receive the specialised attention you need. If possible schedule the appointments back to back:

  • Appointment one: Please book this appointment under mother’s name.
  • Appointment two: Book baby’s appointment under baby’s name and with their date of birth. If possible try to ensure baby is happy and well rested for their appointment. Maybe consider scheduling their appointment just after their regular naptime.

Rebecca offers a discount for the second session so that you are not paying two sessions at full price. This will allow us to give each of you the time and attention you need, and it will also ensure that we can coordinate our care for you both.

If you are a mother with a young baby and you are coming for treatment, it is most practical to bring someone along who can take care of your baby while you are having your treatment. This is optimal because you will be able to fully relax during your session. However, we understand that not all mothers have someone available to accompany them, and we are always happy to work out a solution that accommodates your needs. Our goal is to make sure that you receive the most from your session.

If you are coming for a follow-up session, it is still helpful to bring a partner or friend along so that they can take care of your baby while you are being treated. We can do part of the session with you together, but it is also beneficial to have some time on your own during the session if at all possible.

General Questions

Osteopathy is a holistic healthcare modality that treats the body as a whole. It recognises that the physical, emotional, and energetic aspects of our being are all interconnected.

When the body’s structure and systems are in balance, it has a natural ability to heal itself. However, if there are imbalances or restrictions in the body, it can lead to pain, decreased mobility, and other health problems.

We use a hands-on approach to diagnose and treat these imbalances.  There are many different techniques and styles of treatment an osteopath might use from super gentle cranial osteopathy, to fascial release, to spinal manipulation.  Rebecca has at her disposal a large range of approaches she may use depending on what she believes would be most effective in each case.

In addition to the physical aspects of the body, osteopaths may also consider the emotional and energetic factors that can contribute to health problems. Rebecca believes that our emotions and energy flow can have a profound impact on our physical health.

By addressing all of these aspects, osteopathic treatment can help to support the body’s natural healing abilities and improve overall well-being. It is a compassionate and comprehensive approach to healthcare that can be beneficial for people of all ages.

Osteopathy is a safe and effective treatment for many conditions and could enhance your overall health.

Some of the benefits of osteopathy:

  • Help improve your range of motion.
  • Help reduce pain.
  • Help improve your circulation.
  • Help boost your immune system.
  • Help reduce stress and anxiety.

Conventional medicine typically focuses on treating specific symptoms or conditions. This usually involve the use of medication or surgery. We believe that conventional medicine can be helpful, but it often does not address the root cause of the problem. But newer approaches to medicine like Functional Medicine do. We also believe that conventional medicine can have some side effects, which is why we prefer to use a more holistic approach where possible.

Physiotherapy uses physical therapy to treat musculoskeletal injuries and dysfunctions.  Physiotherapy is often focused locally on the area of dysfunction and physiotherapists focus largely on exercise to restore strength and mobility to the area of dysfunction.  They may also use a hands-on approach (mostly in the private sector rather than the NHS these days).  It can work as a good adjunct to osteopathy but an osteopath will tend to look much more broadly at the whole picture and look beyond the area of dysfunction and beyond the musculoskeletal system. Osteopathy is very much focused on helping the body to heal itself rather than ‘fixing’.

Chiropractic care is another form of alternative medicine that focuses on the spine. It has the same origins as osteopathy (Andrew Taylor Still) but it branched out in the 1930’s and tended to be more focused on the spine and spinal manipulation.  There is a huge overlap with chiropractic and osteopathy and I always say what is most important is to find a practitioner you resonate with and you have good results with regardless of their ‘name’.  There is within both the chiropractic profession and osteopathic profession a huge range of how people practice and the types of techniques they use so find one that works for you.

Rebecca Davies Osteopathy specialises in women’s health, babies, and children. Rebecca can help with a wide range of conditions, including:

    • Women’s health: Pelvic floor rehabilitation, fertility and pregnancy care, hypopressives training, menstrual cramps, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, infertility, incontinence, uterine prolapse,  premenstrual syndrome and vaginismus.
    • Pregnancy-related discomfort: Lower back pain, pelvic pain, sciatica, and postural issues.
    • Postpartum recovery: Musculoskeletal imbalances, diastasis recti, pelvic floor dysfunction, and postural issues.
    • Paediatric conditions: Colic, tongue-tie, reflux, digestive issues, sleep, feeding, plagiocephaly, torticollis.
    • Musculoskeletal conditions & sports injuries: such as posture, shoulder pain, back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches, joint pain, muscle strains,  sprains and overuse injuries.
    • Postural problems: Poor posture, scoliosis, and postural imbalances.
  •

Osteopathy can also be used to improve overall health and well-being by increasing flexibility and range of motion, improving circulation, reducing stress.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list.

Rebecca’s expertise extends beyond these conditions, and she is always happy to discuss your specific needs. We take an individualised approach to each patient and tailor our treatment plans to your specific needs.

Note that the idea of thinking about ‘conditions’ does however not fit in with the osteopathic model, which treats the whole individual. Rather than a one size fits all approach for a particular ‘condition’ Rebecca looks at you and your individual history and much like a detective tries to work out what the root cause might be that is leading to your symptoms.  Taking a thorough case history along with and her palpation skills help her ‘read’ your body and guide her in treating you.

Visceral treatment is a safe and effective therapy that can be beneficial for people of all ages. It is a gentle manual therapy that focuses on the health and function of the internal organs.

We use our knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and mechanics to apply gentle pressure, stretching, and other movements to improve the mobility, blood flow, and overall function of the organs.

The goal of visceral treatment is to restore proper organ function and enhance the body’s self-healing mechanisms. Visceral treatment recognises that the organs are interconnected and work together as a system, affecting not only their specific functions but also the surrounding structures, such as muscles, nerves, and blood vessels.

  • Reduces pain and inflammation
  • Improves digestion
  • Promotes better sleep
  • Boosts the immune system
  • Enhances overall well-being

Hypopressives are a series of low-pressure exercises that can help you strengthen your core muscles without the strain of traditional exercises. These exercises can help relieve pain, decrease incontinence symptoms, and improve pelvic floor function.

Hypopressives work by reducing intra-abdominal pressure, which allows the core muscles to relax and lengthen. This can help to improve posture, reduce back pain, and strengthen the pelvic floor.

Hypopressives can be done by anyone, regardless of age or fitness level. However, it is important to learn how to do them correctly to avoid injury.

Rebecca can teach you how to perform hypopressive exercises correctly and safely.

During a session, Rebecca will guide you through the breathing techniques and correct posture required for hypopressive exercises. She will also assess your current strength and tailor the exercises to your specific condition.

By teaching you how to do hypopressives correctly, we can empower you to incorporate them into your routine and reap the potential benefits for your core strength, posture, and pelvic health.

Energy Medicine is a Holistic Approach to Healing

Energy medicine recognises the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. It understands that emotional and mental factors can influence the flow of energy in the body, and therefore, affect our health. By addressing these aspects, an osteopath can support the overall well-being of their patients.

Rebecca believes that energy medicine is a powerful tool for healing. Our bodies are not just physical structures, but are also made up of subtle energy fields. These energy fields can become imbalanced or disrupted, leading to health problems.

Energy medicine is a way of healing that works with the body’s energy systems to promote health and well-being. Osteopaths who specialise in energy medicine use various techniques to assess and balance these energy systems. These techniques may include hands-on work, such as massage and energy healing, as well as other interventions, such as acupuncture and homeopathy.

Rebecca has undergone 700 additional training in energy medicine and qualified as a Master Practitioner under Cissi Williams, a leading expert in energy medicine. Cissi has a deep understanding of the body’s energy systems and how they can be used to promote healing.

Rebecca specialises in women’s health and children’s care, as she finds that women and children often need and lack specialised care, but she is trained to provide osteopathic treatment for everyone, regardless of age or gender. Rebecca aims to improve the overall health and well-being of all her patients.

Osteopathy is extremely safe. Rebecca is highly qualified and experienced osteopathic practitioner and will always assess your specific situation.  If she feels you are not suitable for treatment she will refer you on.  Osteopaths are trained as primary health care practitioners and are able to do basic screening for red flag conditions that need referring on.  If you are suitable for treatment then treatment is tailored according to your needs to ensure the utmost safety and effectiveness.  Rebecca has a very gentle approach which is suitable for most people.

It is important to remember that everyone is different, and there may be specific circumstances or conditions where caution is necessary.

Always remember to communicate openly with your osteopathic practitioner, provide them with relevant medical history, and ask any questions or express any concerns you may have. This collaborative approach will help ensure that the treatment is appropriate and safe for you or your child.

Rebecca now also offers INDIBA Therapy which is a highly evidence based technology that provides many benefits. It is non-invasive, versatile, powerful and painless. It reduces inflammation and fibrosis, stimulates metabolic processes, and increases blood flow. INDIBA Radio frequency is unique in using a 448Hz frequency to promote powerful healing effects. The technology is very safe, comfortable and often accompanied by a sense of deep relaxation.

Women’s Health

“The pelvis is the seat of our creativity, our sexuality, and our power. It’s where we hold our emotions, our experiences, and our relationships. When the pelvis is healthy and balanced, we feel grounded, centered, and connected to our bodies and our lives.”
(Tami Lynn Kent)

Holistic Pelvic Care (HPC) is a comprehensive approach to women’s health  that focuses on the well-being of the entire pelvis. The pelvis is a complex system that includes bones, muscles, organs, nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissues. HPC integrates various techniques to address physical, emotional, and energetic aspects, aiming to restore balance, alleviate discomfort, and promote overall health and well-being.

Tami Lynn Kent, Rebecca’s mentor, a leading expert in holistic pelvic care, defines it as “a way of working with the body that honors the interconnectedness of the physical, emotional, and energetic aspects of the pelvis.” She believes that by taking a holistic approach, practitioners can help women connect with their bodies, gain insight into their health, and make informed decisions about their well-being.

Holistic pelvic care can be beneficial for women who are experiencing a range of issues, including:

  • Menstrual irregularities
  • Pelvic pain
  • Pelvic floor rehabilitation
  • Prolapse
  • Trauma release
  • Fertility challenges
  • Postpartum recovery
  • Menopausal symptoms

As a holistic pelvic care practitioner Rebecca will take a comprehensive approach to assessing and treating the pelvic region. She may use a variety of techniques, such as gentle manual therapies, counselling, breathwork, and mindfulness, to address the physical, emotional, and energetic aspects of the pelvis.  Rebecca may blend HPC with her osteopathic balancing using visceral, craniosacral and MSK osteopathic techniques.

Hypopressives are a series of low-pressure exercises aimed at strengthening the core muscles without the strain of traditional exercises. In many cases, Rebecca can make a diagnosis without an internal examination.

However, there may be times when an internal examination is necessary. For example, if you are experiencing pelvic pain or menstrual problems, an internal examination can help Rebecca understand your condition. During prenatal or postnatal care, she may recommend an internal examination to assess the health of your pelvic floor muscles and to assess and treat issues with prolapse or incontinence . If required Rebecca will always explain the reasons behind it, discuss the procedure with you, and make sure you feel comfortable and informed throughout the process.

We prioritise patient comfort, consent, and privacy. We are committed to providing the highest standard of care while respecting your individual needs and preferences.

The need for an internal examination will depend on your unique circumstances and the specific concerns you have. Please do not hesitate to discuss any questions or reservations you may have with Rebecca directly.

Open communication is key to building a trusting and collaborative healthcare relationship.

When it comes to fertility, osteopathy can help in a number of ways. For example, osteopathic practitioners can:

  • Assess your overall health and lifestyle factors to identify any potential areas of imbalance that could be affecting your fertility.
  • Provide personalised advice on lifestyle changes that can boost fertility, such as improving your diet, getting regular exercise, and reducing stress levels.
  • Use gentle manual techniques to improve blood flow, reduce tension, and release restrictions in your body. This can help to create a more hospitable environment for conception and improve your overall health.
  • Address any imbalances or restrictions in the pelvic region, which can interfere with fertility.
  • Reduce stress levels and promote relaxation, which can also be beneficial for fertility.

Everyone’s fertility journey is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to improving fertility. However, osteopathy can be a valuable tool for many people who are trying to conceive. Rebecca uses this in conjunction with holistic pelvic care to bring presence and awareness to the pelvic bowl.

Your body goes through enormous changes during pregnancy. Osteopathy helps your body adapt to these changes.

Rebecca offers a range of osteopathic techniques to help pregnant women feel more comfortable and supported during pregnancy. Her aim is to relieve discomfort, optimise pelvic health, and address digestive and circulatory issues. She also provides guidance on exercise, posture, and emotional well-being.

Relieving discomfort

As the body changes during pregnancy, it’s common to experience discomfort in the back, pelvis, and other areas. Rebecca uses gentle osteopathic techniques to help relieve pain and improve range of motion.

Optimising pelvic health

The pelvis is a key area for pregnant women, so it’s important to keep it healthy and aligned. Rebecca uses techniques to help improve pelvic muscle strength and mobility, which can help with childbirth.

Addressing digestive and circulatory issues

Osteopathy can help improve digestion and circulation, which can be beneficial for both the mother and the baby. Rebecca uses techniques to help reduce bloating, constipation, and other digestive problems.

Providing guidance

Rebecca also offers guidance on exercise, posture, and emotional well-being and will often recommend other resources from the large network she has available. She can help you find exercises that are safe and comfortable for you, and she can give you tips on how to improve your posture. She also offers support for any emotional challenges you may be facing during pregnancy.

Rebecca’s goal is to help you have a healthy and comfortable pregnancy and to support you in connecting with your baby. She believes that osteopathy can help you feel your best during this special time.

Rebecca is a fully qualified ‘Ecstatic Birth Practitioner‘ and she often weaves her expertise in this area in to a session which will be unique for each client.

Rebecca supports women who are planning vaginal births as well as those planning for a cesarean section.

Your body goes through enormous changes during pregnancy. Osteopathy helps your body adapt to these changes.

Unresolved mechanical issues can become problematic during pregnancy and may effect not only the mother, leading to aches and pains, but also the positioning and subsequent delivery of baby.

Rebecca is equipped to support you in multiple ways:

  • She can assess your physical well-being during pregnancy to ensure proper alignment of your pelvis, which is crucial for a smooth birth.

  • She can teach you relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, and gentle movements that can be beneficial during labor and contribute to a more relaxed and positive birthing experience.

  • She can promote a sense of calm and relaxation, ultimately supporting your body’s innate birthing processes.

We highly recommend booking a consultation with Rebecca for osteopathic assessment if you are already experiencing pain, or if your body has undergone previous surgery, accidents, digestive problems, or postural issues.

With Rebecca’s guidance, you can also  prepare emotionally for this transformative journey. Her mission is to provide comprehensive support throughout your pregnancy, birth preparation, and postpartum period and to ensure the well-being of both you and your child throughout the entirety of this sacred birthing journey.

As a certified Ecstatic Birth Practitioner Rebecca can help you prepare for birth and introduce you to the concepts of Ecstatic Birth, Positive Birth, and Orgasmic Birth.

Positive Birth revolves around empowering women and promoting autonomy and informed decision-making throughout the birthing process. It recognises the importance of emotional well-being and aims to create a satisfying and empowering birth experience for mothers.

Ecstatic Birth is a state of profound joy, spiritual connection, and deep satisfaction that some women experience during childbirth. It transcends the conventional perception of birth as a painful and arduous process and instead celebrates the transformational journey of bringing life into the world.

Orgasmic Birth is when women experience pleasurable sensations, including orgasms, during labour and delivery. This occurrence highlights the incredible capacity of the human body and its potential for extraordinary experiences during childbirth.

By combining her expertise and creating a nurturing environment, she aims to make your birth experience as positive, empowering, and joyous as possible .

Here are some of the specific ways in which osteopathy can help to relieve pelvic pain:

  • Releasing tension in the muscles and connective tissues: Osteopaths can use their hands to release tension in the muscles and connective tissues of the pelvis, which can help to reduce pain and improve mobility.
  • Improving blood flow: Osteopathic treatment can help to improve blood flow to the pelvic region, which can help to reduce inflammation and promote healing.
  • Addressing any underlying imbalances or restrictions: Osteopaths can assess the whole body to identify any underlying imbalances or restrictions that may be contributing to pelvic pain. Once these imbalances are addressed, the pain can often be relieved.
  • Providing education and support: Osteopaths can also provide education and support to help people manage their pelvic pain. This may include teaching people about lifestyle changes that can help to reduce pain, such as maintaining a healthy weight, getting regular exercise, and managing stress levels.

Rebecca has great results treating prolapse using hands on gynaecological work and we would highly recommend seeing her for this type of work.  Results do depend on the extent of prolapse and how long you have been experiencing problems and her goal is always to treat as early as possible and to be preventative.  Where this is not the case results can still be achieved but it is on a case by case basis.

Rebecca also has extensive knowledge of other modalities that can support you and can recommend clinics where this support is available.  Rebecca is also trained as a hypopressive trainer and finds this is a useful exercise to support your journey with prolapse – see hypopressives for more details.

Rebecca can offer support to women who have had a C-section. C-sections are major surgery, and they can leave women with a variety of physical and emotional challenges.
Rebecca’s goal is to help you recover from your C-section and regain your physical and emotional well-being. She believes that everyone deserves to feel good in their own skin, and is committed to helping you achieve that goal.

  • Osteopathic treatment can help to reduce pain and inflammation, which can make it easier to move and recover from surgery.
  • Hands on work helps to reduce scar tissue and adhesions from surgery and she treats scar tissue and gives guidance on how to do this yourself.
  • Rebecca also offers Indiba radio frequency treatment to reduce scar tissue. This treatment can also accelerate healing of tissue, reduce pain, discomfort and swelling. It increases blood flow to the applied area which aids in the ability of pelvic muscles to contract and relax, as well as stimulating collagen production.
  • Osteopathic treatment can help to improve mobility by releasing tension in the muscles and connective tissues. This can help you to regain your range of motion and get back to your normal activities.
  • Osteopathic treatment can help to prevent future problems by addressing any underlying imbalances or restrictions in the body. This can help to keep you healthy and pain-free in the long term.

Rebecca also support women planning elective c-sections and to prepare optimally for such a delivery.

Yes, Rebecca can help to manage and prevent chronic bladder or vaginal infections. She works with the musculoskeletal system to improve circulation, reduce tension, and enhance the function of all bodily systems. This can help to address underlying issues that may be contributing to the recurrence of infections.  She works also with the visceral system – sometimes by improving the relative positions of organs we can help to improve full emptying of the bladder so reducing chance of getting bladder infections.

For example, she can assess your posture and pelvic floor to identify any imbalances or dysfunctions that may be causing problems. She can then use gentle manual techniques to help to restore balance and function.

In addition to manual therapy, Rebecca can also provide guidance on lifestyle modifications, such as dietary changes and hygiene practices, which can help to support a healthy bladder and vagina.

Rebecca offers a safe and confidential space where you can talk about your concerns and experiences. She listens attentively and without judgment, and she will work with you to address your physical and emotional needs. She offers a compassionate space where you can begin your healing journey. She works collaboratively with you, tailoring her approach to your specific needs and concerns.

Rebecca uses osteopathic techniques to relieve tension, improve circulation, and restore balance to your pelvic area. She can also help you develop strategies for coping with anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress symptoms. Her goal is to help you regain comfort, function, and overall well-being.

Furthermore, Rebecca is a fully qualified Master Practitioner in Energy Medicine and has worked a lot with healing trauma in the body.  She is able to weave energy medicine into the sessions and if you wish to initially work remotely or without hands on treatment,  this is also possible with her energy medicine tools.

Rebecca has a comprehensive understanding of the pelvis and its related structures and understands that pelvic dysfunction can have unique implications for women’s health. Pelvic dysfunction refers to an imbalance or restriction in the bones, muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues of the pelvis. This can cause discomfort, pain, and difficulties with movement and function, especially during pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause.

During your session with Rebecca, she will carefully assess your condition by taking into account your medical history and conducting a physical examination. She will tailor treatment to address specific needs and help alleviate symptoms.

Rebecca’s approach focuses on promoting the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Through manual therapy, I can release tension, improve circulation, and address any structural imbalances in the pelvis. I may also provide you with exercises and stretches to support your recovery and prevent future issues.

There are some potential risks of osteopathy, which are usually mild and short-lived.  If you have never experienced treatment like this before then it is common that it can take the body a couple of days after the first session to find its new point of balance.  You may experience different sensations moving around your body, sometimes discomfort or pain which will mostly alleviate by day 3, sometimes exhaustion, intense dreams.  This invariably settles by the third day and this is most often experienced after the first session and not subsequent sessions.  Very occasionally a client will have a more acute treatment reaction and on these rare occasions I always invite you back in to get that resolved asap or to refer you on if that is needed.

We are happy to offer recommendations for other practitioners based on your specific requirements and needs. Through her work Rebecca has established a diverse network of fabulous practitioners across various fields.
