It is very easy to focus on the place where we feel pain and see the problem just there. Certainly it’s important to consider the site of pain however as ostoepaths we are taught the fundamental importance of considering the whole body in relation to injuries both new and old.
It is this which helps our patients optimise their rehabilitation. We allow the body to undo patterns which may be maintaining your injury or which may predispose you to re-injury.
With an active interest in fitness myself (I currently dance, run barefoot style and do regular strength training) I am very interested in working with patients from a fitness and sporting perspective (in particular runners) and will work closely with you helping you to achieve your goals together with any coach you are working with.
Osteopaths receive a unique training (minimum of 4 years) where they learn amongst other things in depth anatomy, physiology and palpation skills.
To an osteopath, for your body to work well, its structure must also work well. So osteopaths work to restore your body to a state of balance.
Rebecca would love to meet you to see how she can support you – she’s highly experienced in women’s health, paediatrics and general osteopathy – if you’re not sure how or if she can help, send us a message!
