Postpartum MOT

A Postpartum MOT is a specialist postnatal examination for women following both vaginal and C-section deliveries.  This is an assessment that will go beyond the basics.

I understand the profound physical and emotional changes your body undergoes during motherhood. I will assess your posture, breathing, stomach muscles (to check for ‘separation’) pelvic floor balance and muscle activation, scar tissue and the rest of your body too.  You will have a comprehensive screening based on your complete history and at the end of it you will have a plan for how to move forward.

In this screening you will also receive initial treatment and following this you will receive a plan and advice on next steps.

The 6 week GP screening is not going to give you a lot of information about what is going on in your body – however, my screening and my experience of having treated many hundreds of women after birth, will give you a comprehensive plan for moving forward and restoring good health and vitality.  My approach does not take into account just the physical symptoms, but is a truly holistic and comprehensive assessment.

Any woman, in any life stage may benefit from this kind of treatment, although it is particularly beneficial for those wanting assistance or support.

"I reached out to Rebecca following a recommendation from a closing the bones practitioner after I had my baby girl. I had been in a lot of pain from an emergency C-section and I was almost doubled over, I couldn't get upstairs without a lot of pain. Rebecca was supportive and reassured me on the treatment and outcome and she was right. The very next day I noticed my mobility had improved and less pain, and I have not taken pain killers since seeing Rebecca.I am doing so much more at home and with baby. There is no way I could have received this level of treatment and consideration, all while being holistic, from mainstream NHS services, they simply don't have the knowledge or time."
