How to boost your immunity


As we move into Winter I wanted to share with you some immune boosting tips I have been following over the last year. With all the fearmongering that was at the fore last year I took a lot of time to really consider my own health and immune system function and wanted to share some of this learning with you.

I am, as you all know, a strong advocate of tapping into the body’s innate healing mechanism as is reflected in my work and I put a lot of time and research into considering what my body needs and does not need to be supported.  I share with you some keys and resources which I have found useful over the past year below.


1. Vitamin D

Vitamin D supplementation: prior to last year I just assumed my vitamin D levels were ok.  Then I read how important optimal vitamin D levels were in the prevention of covid 19 and how important it is to regularly test your vitamin D levels.

I would now recommend that everyone have their levels tested at least annually. You want to aim to have your levels between 150 nmol/L and 200 nmol/L and to optimise your supplementation take with Magnesium and K2. You can order private vitamin D tests online for around £30 or book in with you G.P.  Note that optimal levels are way above the recommended levels as laid out in NHS guidelines so make sure you actually find out what your levels are if getting tested on the NHS.

2. Boost your glutathione levels

Without an adequate supply of glutathione your immune system will not function effectively function. When glutathione levels are low common illnesses and even degenerative diseases develop.

Glutathione is a major antioxidant produced by the cell which neutralises free radicals and recycles other antioxidants. It’s also the body’s most effective detoxifier.

3. Treat respiratory viruses at source!

An invaluable common sense approach which sadly has been mostly overlooked is to treat respiratory viruses at source in the nasal passages where viruses replicate.

Three ways of doing this are – steam inhalation, use of a nettypot and use of a nebuliser.  I invested in a nebuliser last year and find it a useful piece of equipment. Again it can be used preventatively and as early treatment. Antivirals can be used in each of these. I tend to use aromatherapy oils with antiviral properties and povidine iodine.

4. Early Treatment Protocols & Supplementation  

Having access to early treatment protocols for Covid is invaluable.  Two sources which are very useful are from the World Council for Health (WCH) and FLCCC – both of these protocols are worth familiarising yourself with and stocking up on good quality supplements recommended in them.

Based on these early treatment protocols I have been supplementing on and off with the following over the past year – these can be used preventatively and are also useful for early treatment – here’s a guide of the basics but do familiarise yourself with the above protocols.

  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin D3
  • Zinc (elemental)
  • Anti-viral nasal spray & mouthwash
  • Multivitamins

And good to have too..

  • Quercetin
  • N-Acetylcysteine
  • Ivermectin

5. Connect to nature and get exposure to daylight

It is known that connecting with nature and exposing ourselves to daylight massively helps to regulate our bodies and heal.  Try to spend time each day connecting with nature – I take the dog for a long walk every morning and I know this really helps.  Don’t underestimate the positive effect this has on your health and make a commitment to yourself to do this everyday however busy you are.

6. Bring joy into your life

I’ve just come back from an incredible retreat in Bulgaria called Peace Awareness Training.  This week away was a valuable reminder about how important soulful human connection is for us and the importance of joy and laughter in our lives.  The world can seem a very serious place with the continual stream of ‘bad news’ in the media.  So make sure to switch off from all that regularly and focus on what you love and what brings you joy.
