The miracle of childbirth can leave behind unseen scars, pain and an emotional  disconnect from ourselves and our newborn. Pelvic issues, loss of identity or sense of self, and the weight of unacknowledged challenges are more common than you might think.

Dysfunction in postpartum women is very common and even though much goes undiagnosed the estimates of diagnosed dysfunction are as high  23.7% in the US, with  prevalence of at least one PFD (pelvic floor disorders) (Hallock 2016) . This figure is likely on the rise as birth intervention is now incredibly common, with most women experiencing it during childbirth
And far too often, women are left to navigate the physical and emotional aftermath alone. If left untreated, issues like this tend to get worse as women age and reach menopause. About one in five women will undergo surgery for genital prolapse or urinary incontinence by the age of 85 (Gyhagen 2019).

We’re told these issues are “normal” consequences, mere blips on the motherhood radar. We’re not told that support to heal exists. But it does!

More Than Just Kegels: An Integrated Approach to Wholeness

Forget the one-size-fits-all approach to postpartum care. My work is very different to the mainstream, which to my mind is sadly failing women by ignoring the trauma she has gone through and offering her substandard after care. My approach isn’t just about fixing broken parts; putting a “plaster” on it. Mine is a holistic approach that delves deeper, weaving together osteopathic manipulation, pelvic floor therapy, energy work, and somatic practices. It’s an integrated synthesis of training I have done and everything I have learned from the many hundreds of women I have had the privilege to work with.

It’s about rediscovering a vibrant you, the woman who birthed a miracle not despite the trauma, but through healing it. It’s about reclaiming your pelvic floor as a source of strength, not shame. It’s about remembering pleasure, not just surviving pain.

Reasons women seek my help

Seeking understanding: Some women come to me unsure of what’s happening with their pelvic floor and simply want reassurance and a check-up.

Navigating pain: Pelvic pain can manifest in various ways, from lower back, sacrum, coccyx aches to vaginal and cervix pain. My clients seek relief from pain during sex, bowel movements, and even just sitting or standing.

Feeling of heaviness: Some women experience a sense of prolapse or heaviness in their pelvic region, disrupting their sense of comfort and confidence.

Managing leaks: Stress, urgency, or involuntary urinary or rectal leakage – any form of incontinence can be isolating and frustrating. My clients seek solutions to regain control and confidence.

Healing birth trauma: Whether recent or long-held, the emotional and physical wounds of a traumatic birth can be profound. My clients come to find healing and reclaim their postpartum experience.

Many women don’t realise this kind of help exists. They can suffer for years before they hear about it and finally seek support. It’s never too late to heal, but starting sooner often leads to greater improvements. My integrated holistic approach has consistently helped women significantly reduce their symptoms and reclaim their well-being.

You can experience significant improvements to your symptoms following just one session, and certainly within two to three sessions. In addition my clients often recognise improvements in other areas of health.  For instance, an absence of feeling or numbness is usually not mentioned in the consultation, but a return of sensation and the ability to experience more pleasure after treatment is often expressed.  An embodied feeling of safety as well as  a deeper connection and bond with their child is also often experienced in a short space of time.

Integrated Healing Approach

Working through a woman’s layers in an integrated way with Chi (Energy Life Force) at the centre I help her restore connection with her body and her pelvic bowl, feeling more energised in body, feeling more connected to her pelvic bowl, and to feeling more connected to her life force and creativity.

The dull ache in your pelvis begins to fade.

You breathe deeper, feeling a renewed connection to your core.

Sex becomes a source of rediscovered intimacy.

The mirror reflects a woman you recognise.

This isn’t wishful thinking. It’s the reality countless women experience through my integrated healing approach.

Working in an integrated way allows one to move through the layers to achieve deep healing on many levels.  I do this in a way that holds sacred space for the woman.  To work with this most intimate area of a woman’s body it is so important to hold the right energy, to be in deep respect for the wisdom she is holding, to be honouring her in this process of healing and to listen.

Rebecca’s Holistic Pelvic Care programme really helped me through a tough time. I reconnected with my pelvic bowl, which in turn improved my pelvic floor techniques. She worked on my scar tissue, released muscle tension, and helped me with exercises to do at home. It had such a positive impact on my physical health and emotional wellbeing. I found her hypopressive sessions really helped with my prolapse symptoms. ”

My therapies, modalities & treatment types

Osteopathic treatment – with a specialist training in women’s health I use various osteopathic tools to bring the diaphragms, organs, spine, pelvis, fascia and muscles back into balance.  Frequently there is an imbalance in the system residual from pregnancy, birth or perhaps even older than this.

Holistic Pelvic Care treatment – this involves a subtle but very powerful way of working with the pelvic floor to restore presence, life force balance.  Based on the work of Tami Lynn Kent whose books I highly recommend. (more)

Indiba Radio Frequency – this is an amazing tool for healing scar tissue, post c-section, or vaginally from tearing/episiotomy.  It acts to stimulate and reorganise collagen fibres to reduce inflammation, pain, adhesions and fibrosis, that can occur in any type of condition or pathology and it really works wonders in postpartum recovery. (more)

Hypopressives – is a great form of postural/breathing exercise that supports all of the above in restoring good balance of pressures, a very helpful adjunct for prolapse, diastasi recti and general restoration of good breathing patterns and posture.

Pelvic floor activation and somatics – with advanced training in somatics and pelvic floor, I am able to give you tailored exercises to encourage building of connection, balance and strength.  This can include breath work, visualisations, various pelvic floor activation techniques, tools for doing release work, as well as strengthening.
